This was on WWE about Edge.
http://www.wwe.com/inside/edge-announcement
Quote:
The Rated-R Superstar had been suffering numbness and uncontrollable trembling in his arms and hands. This is not the first time Edge has experienced these symptoms of nueropraxia. An MRI administered at Atlanta Midtown Diagnostic Imaging last Monday was sent to Dr. Joseph Maroon, a renowned neurosurgeon and professor of neurosurgery at The Pittsburgh School of Medicine. After careful examination of the MRI, it was determined that Edge would never be cleared to compete again, and thus, he is forced to retire.
In 2003, Edge underwent a two level spinal fusion of the discs between his C5, C6 and C7 vertebrae. After being cleared to compete, The Rated-R Superstar returned to the ring, resulting in stenosis of the spine, or a narrowing of the spinal column, above and below the fused discs. This narrowing resulted in less and less of the vital fluid needed to protect the spinal cord. Medical professionals cannot clear Edge to compete ever again in WWE since doing so could result in paralysis or even death.

R-Truth has about as much chance as becoming the champ as I do.

Edge was always one of my favorites. I will miss the crazed look on his face just before delivering the spear.
I wonder if Smackdown will have a tournament to decide the champion, and who will be in it. Obviously Alberto Del Rio will be one of them.

Damn. I missed it last night and see that Edge retired. He's a Hall of Famer for certain. His credentials are good enough to make it on merit, and I guess he's on good terms with Vince.
R-Truth as number one contender for the WWE title? I have a feeling that it's either him being used as a token to get someone off their back for not having a top black guy in the spotlight, or it's just them punishing Morrison by giving another guy a title shot and push. I think R-Truth is good, but not main event material at the highest level. He may surprise everyone though.

Definitely not in his prime from an athletic standpoint because of age and all the injuries, but he definitely had a few more years if not for the injury.
Edge was never a guy that was my favorite, but with such a dearth of main event talent these days, its a shame to see him go. This just makes me anxious to see Jericho return....if he ever does.

I have always had a stick shaped body. I have always figured I was lucky to have it but I was trying to increase my muscle mass more to make myself more attractive to women. I have been working out at a gym with free weights and other equipment for about a year but I wasnt accumulating too much additonal muscle. I started taking The Dr Max Powers Testosterone Boost about 3 months ago and I noticed that my muscle accumulation has increased for the first time in a long time of evening out. This product seems to work really well.

Thats why I said if he ever does return. DWTS is annoyingly mainstream and could lead to more opportunities outside of wrestling.

It's hard to categorize Edge's legacy. He was never as over (face or heel) as guys like Stone Cold, Hulk Hogan, HBK, HHH, John Cena, The Undertaker, The Rock, etc.
I'd probably put him in the same category, legacy-wise, as guys like Batista, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, and probably Randy Orton. Guys that were historically important to the company, very over, but never the top superstar in the company at any point. I'd put guys like Randy Savage and Bret Hart somewhere in between the 1st group and the 2nd.

I think that's fair. Edge was never "The Guy", but he was an important player for a long time.

I will always remember Edge more for his tag team days not because he wasn't a great singles wrestler but because it was such an epic time for tag teams as a whole.

I still can't decide between whether or not I want Christian or Del Rio to win the title. I love Christian, and I have for years. But Del Rio is really growing on me, and I'm just used to Christian getting the shaft for so many years.
