You never know....
The Pump brothers scandal only brings to light how shady AAU basketball is but at the same time it's such a necessary evil for big time programs.
Coaches (Calipari included) want to move the recruitment back into the hands of HS coaches by ending summer recruiting but at the same time that screws over smaller programs... AAU tournaments really help mid level schools recruits.

Tomorrow could be a REALLY interesting day in college basketball.
With potential re-alignment of the conferences and Izzo to Cleveland potentially things are going to really change.
Izzo is hands down the best in college basketball IMO.

Izzo leaving sucks for the big ten, IMO. Who is then the premiere coach of the conference? I know, TOM CREAN!!! yeahhh!!! my college is on its way back to prominence.
But really, who then becomes the best coach in the conference? Matta? Eh.

Big hit to college basketball and the Big 10, definitely seems like he's gonna take it. Can't blame him, it's a new challenge and a big opportunity. I'm wondering who MSU will go after.
Seems like the Big 12 is disappearing as I type this. I liked watching their basketball. Not a big fan of these huge conferences.

I'm guessing it will be Brian Greggory.
Great coach, former Izzo assistant, and it would be a step up for him.

It's ok, Chet Culver is stepping in for Iowa St. and threatening government action if the Big XI/Pac 10 don't take them. He also is threatening Iowa saying they should vote against any addition that doesn't include Iowa St.
I wonder what will happen to Kansas. Their BBall program is too good and has too much history to be relegated to a non-BCS conference.

Nobody wants Iowa State. They aren't getting screwed, they're just trash.

Izzo can't flat out be the best coach with alot of em out there but it is your opinion.. it is hard to determine, but id say Jimmy Boeheim.. Coach K >:l, Roy is a bit overrated but still breathes the game of basketball and I like Kansas State coach but there is a good amount out there.

The guy hardly even recruits nationally and you're basically guaranteed if you sign with Izzo that you'll play in a Final Four. No other coach can claim that.
How can a coach have 6 Final Fours in the past 11 years and not be considered the best? Sure, he didn't seal the deal but that kind of sustained success in this era of college basketball is just insane.
Coach K obviously was king last year but has been pretty blah in the past several seasons compared to Izzo.
Boeheim doesn't even deserve to be in the conversation. Hasn't been past the Sweet 16 since Carmello. Boeheim is pretty overrated given his body of work IMO. He's been to almost as many NIT's as Izzo has been Final Fours in the past 10 years.

Yeah but with me it is the finished result.. Coach K hasn't had a balanced team in awile but they will be contending next season, Boeheim hasn't had the best talent but I can see where you are coming from. Izzo has had pretty good teams with depth but he is for sure in my top 3.

Too high?
Too low?
Brandon Knight coming in with 2 other MAA coming in
and all 5 commits are top 100 guys, just because all those super froshs left doesn't mean they are bad.
Plenty of guys who can still play on UK too, Liggins, Darius Miller, Darnell Dodson.. etc. Another super talented team for UK

Too high, IMO. Brandon Knight isn't exactly the playmaking type that Wall and Rose were. He's more of a prototypical, floor general PG. They're a decent team and, with a little luck, come together in the end, but I think there are plenty of teams with less question marks and more talent than Kentucky.

Originally had em at 5, Kansas at 4 but the Jayhawks are nowhere near as deep as Kentucky. Knight doesn't have to be a playmaker for them to be good a floor general sounds good to me...can distribute to Dodson, Liggins, Miller, all guys who should make another stride this year.
Decent team? not quite I don't like Callipari but the guy can recruit and just because he didn't get a class of Wall, Bledsoe, Cousins, and Orton doesn't mean they won't be talented. Enes Kanter is a 7 footer who has good fundamentals and I think they got Terrence Jones too? Lost alot but got 3 more All Americans like usual. I do agree with the fact they need to come together but who is more talented than Kentucky in your opinion?

Brandon Knight is confusing. He's is an extremely talented scorer and long range shooter but at times is extremely passive and I don't think he's a great passer. He's got raw AI type scoring ability but at times a Jason Kidd mentality. Not sure who we'll see on the court.

Knight is a prototypical, floor general PG? I must have been watching a different player because I saw him jack up like 40 shots one game and was a ball hog in another. I think he's horribly overrated and not anywhere close to what Rose, Evans and Wall were.

John Henson on Wooden Pre-season Top 50 watch list.
Had to get the thread alive.
We are thin downlow but guard play has won us a championship before so i am not too worried. If Zellerz can stay healthy along with Henson we should turn out to be a balanced team. Strick and LD3 are not the Feltons and Lawsons but there style of play is unique and can definetely win us some games.
Harrison Barnes will be holding a clinic week in and week out.

I just want to say that Mike Rice is doing a great job. A top 10 recruiting class at Rutgers in his first year is just crazy.
