You really think Willie Cauley-Stein is coming back? He's projected as a top 10 pick. Archie Goodwin is probably going pro as well. Poythress is probably coming back. So, it will probably be him and Wiltjer coming back.

Cauley Stein better come back for his sake - sweet jesus that kid needs some work.

Goodwin I can see coming back. He was the only one that had some fire for Kentucky last night and the only one really in the last couple games. He indicated last night he was coming back after the game.

Basically, I don't see these kids leaving the program after what show they just put on.

And Poythress already noted that he is coming back last night as you said.

Never take any kids word on them staying right after a loss. Once they see projections all they will see is dollar signs.

Agreed - if they had not bowed out this season like they did. I can't see kids leaving a program like Kentucky the way it is right now and knowing they were the reason for people laughing at the university.

If Kentucky lost a few games and got a 7 or 8 seed, you might have a point. You can't maintain a consistent level of constant success and down seasons happen.

Missing the tournament and losing in the 1st round of the NIT? That's not just "**** happens" for a program like Kentucky, and the OP (annoying as he can be) has a point that relying on freshman is playing with fire.

My bad, you are right. I got him mixed up with Doron Lamb.

So it was Terrence Jones, Miller and Lamb returning with all those freshmen.

People at my work are suggesting that the Baylor women's team could compete in the men's tourney. I laughed and then got dirty looks from everyone.

I'm actually surprised they don't have this debate on First Take. I would love to see Skip try and aruge that a women's team could even beat a 16 seed.

It's worse because one of my coworkers has a daughter that plays at Tennessee so they are really into Women's Basketball.

Oh boy- that is a tough situation.

Seriously though, how could one person think Baylor could beat any team in the tourney let alone get to a sweet 16. I realize how sexist this sounds, but women's basketball is still miles away from men's product. I'm not even sure a WNBA team could win a game in the tourney.

They're probably in if Noel's healthy. I just don't see how missing it once when your best player goes down is a huge deal.

I'm wondering if a women's team could beat a good high school boy's team? there would be a big difference in fundamentals/coaching, but they are using a smaller ball, women aren't physically built the same way, I mean a tall woman is maybe 6' tall, and everyone on any division 1 college men's team is between 6'0" and 7'0"+ with some exceptions on guards who are smaller/quicker. IOW, tall for a woman's bball player is very very short for a men's bball player.

But yeah, anyone who thinks ANY woman's team ever wouldn't get absolutely blown out by ANY division 1 men's team (let alone a tourney team) is clueless about basketball and the world in general.

all three of those guys could easily be top 20 picks in the NBA draft, I don't think there's any way they stay with the incoming talent and what happened to Nerlens. they have absolutely nothing to gain by staying... they're all going to lose a good portion of their playing time and they'll be at risk of injury before getting paid.

no way. Kentucky is bringing in 5 or 6 players in the top 20, 3 of them guards, 2 forwards and 1 center. all three of those guys can kiss their playing time goodbye if they stay

Why would their playing time go away? You're assuming that the new guys will be better, and they haven't even stepped foot on campus yet.

Polythress has a good chance of being a lottery pick. I don't know why anyone would say he's staying.

well considering there are 3 guards and 2 forwards, all of whom are ranked inside the top 20, there is going to be a lot of playing time spread around. a guard that gets 32 mpg right now is definitely not going to see that much next year

I always enjoy when people think that a good womens team could compete with a mens team. Griner is probably the most dominant female college basketball player of all time. She would be a pretty bad big in the mens.

Worse than Eddy Curry and Kwame Brown.

I think this year, the 13s are the new 12s.

And watch the 2-15 games. I expect at least three of them to be fairly competitive.

I think people are on #2 Seed alert watch after what happened last year with Mizzou and Duke.

The Iowa women's team would frequently scrimmage and practice plays against random guys at our field house and lose more than 50% of the time. So ya, there's no doubt in my mind that top women's teams would get destroyed by any in the field of 68.
