I wonder if "Bill Belichick" is Spanish for "Bend Over!"

Chad helps the receiving situation a little bit, that's for sure. Hopefully he opens things up a little bit up the middle with his outside game. Not the biggest fan of the guy and he's trending the wrong way, but there's history of receivers finding it in their mid 30's before.

Wouldn't put money on that. Slater is a valuable special teamer.

The Patriots are always looking for a replacement and Bill always says the more positions you can fill (well) the more likely you are to make the team.
He's horrible at everything other than ST. I can see him being a casualty really easily. It's not like good specialist are hard to find.

I like the Haynsworth trade, if only because it is low risk high reward.
Personally, I think he will be a much better player and member of the team here than he was in Washington, if only because BB commands more respect. He and Shanahan (and from the sounds of it, almost everyone else in Washington) were not a good fit. Yes he acted like a spoiled brat, but I also think that Shanahan didn't handle the situation very well. Also, I am willing to bet anything that they put his locker right next to Wilforks. Wilfork is a peer to Haynsworth in literally every way, both being near the tops of their position in the game. If he pans out, try and run at Warren-Wilfork-Haynsworth. If he doesn't? Cut him, that 5th would probably be either a 6th and a future 7th or it would be a random DE or OL traded for that would suck anyways.
As for Mr Ochocinco. I like the move. Not as much upside as fat Albert, but definitely a higher floor and waaay more entertaining. Now the question becomes: who gets cut?
Ochocinco, Branch, Welker
Tate, Price, Edelman
Slater
Youth vs readiness right now?

Still, we've kept dedicated special teamers around in the past and kept them over players with position value before too. Larry Izzo, ect.

I could see Edelman or Welker being traded. I'd hate to see Edelman go, though. Tate is a monster returning kicks and stretching the field and Price is a project that looks like it's turning out well (from the little bit we got to see). More likely, someone goes to the "IR" or "PUP" before the season starts.

Tate may be a good returner, but I wouldn't say he stretched the field for us last year.

No, I wouldn't either. Made some tough catches down the field but dropped a ton of easy ones. Made more plays underneath and running really.

I can't root for Fat Al either. He's a total piece of crap. His behavior, regardless of how poorly Shanny handled it, has been unacceptable as a professional and as a (sub)human being.
Honestly, I'm hoping he just acts like himself from the start. That way he'll be gone by mid August.

Let the Ochocinco era begin!!! LOVE IT!
Sorry for two in a row, but my boy Chad deserves better than being lumped into a post with that other unmentionable.

Hey I understand the feeling towards Haynesworth because I feel the same way, but put it this way;
In January if we play the Jets and they're marching down the field for the go ahead score and all our OLBs and guys like Mike Wright are grasping at Sanchez and letting him get loose and then Haynesworth comes and smashes him and forces a fumble winning us the game I think I'd be a happy little Pats fan

A 6th and 7th is what I saw somewhere but I can't find any confirmation. I think it was in a WEEI breaking news email. Not sure which year(s) those picks are, but if it's a 6 & 7 it's irrelelvant anyway. We'll no doubt recoup those over time.

I'll be happy for the stop and bitching at the tv because I have to see that dirtbag in a Pats uni.
