If Asante Samuel is available, which has been speculated, would the Pats take a shot at bringing him back? Or is the bridge too far burned?

They'd certainly explore it, but I don't think they can afford him anyway.

Haynesworth passed the conditioning test today, on his first try. Reports were out there that he had taken one earlier, team denies it. Don't think we would go out of our way to lie about something like that.
Borges had a VERY interesting article today that scares the living **** out of me, to be honest. I think he's grasping at straws a little bit(with Chad in particular), but there's some stuff there that I can see right now. The part about why Warren was cut is particularly crappy/scary.

Right here.
Again, thing to keep in mind here is that Borges HATES BB and always has. He was chummy with Drew Bledsoe back in the day and was very upset when we decided to move on from him. He's a bit of a clown. Really embarrassed himself when we were winning with some of the stuff he said( Here's a handy dandy example of some of the reasons why I ultimately think he's a hack). If there's a guy who wants the entire thing to blow up, it's him...but I do think he has a little bit of a point here. We've taken on castoffs and troubled players and don't REALLY have the same kind of strong locker room culture we used to.

Yea, he's a Jets fan, obviously. All the comments were funny though.

Yeah. Ultimately, I feel like we're still doing whatever is best for the team. But it does seem like we're trying to take some shortcuts these days :/

when your D is the worst in the league on 3rd down... you gotta do something.
I don't think grabbing haynesworth was desperate though... it cost a 5th rd.
If we had given up something substantial, then I would have agreed on that.
I didn't know Ty Warren failed his condition test though. Regardless of what he was told.
With a shortened off season... we need players that are ready to go from the get go.
Plus, it looks like BB and him were bumping heads for a while.
It's an isolated incident. I'm not going to look too deep into it

Brandon McGowan has been resigned per the team website. Good move, I think. Played very well in his one healthy season here. Underrated player. We also retained the services of Tracy White, who was pretty good on special teams. Anthony Leonard was released this morning as well, one of the UDFA we brought in.
Fat Al in the morning walkthrough.

we need to bring in the drafted rookies ASAP. the three guys who arent signed yet (solder, vareen, dowling) all could potentially be big parts of our team this year. solder most likely won't but he still needs to come in and start the strength program

We better not want Solder to be a big part of our team this year unless we want Brady eating grass and dirt every play.

I saw that as well over on espnboston. Starting off on a good note here, I'm pretty hopeful that this could pay off well for us.

He got hurt though, from what I understand. Somebody cut him low(ouch, thought this was supposed to be a walkthrough) and he was sidelined. Doesn't sound terribly serious.
Chad Johnson supposedly wasn't too hot today. Had a case of the dropsies. Not all that worried about that one either, in the end.

Very happy that New England re-signed Matt Light. Only okay at this point but necessary in order to buy Nate Solder some time. I don't want to see Mark LeVoir as a starting tackle this year either. Tommie Harris seems worth a shot if he's willing to sign a one-year deal for the veteran minimum or close to it, but I'm not going to hold my breath considering he hasn't been good since 2008.

I'm glad M.Light was re-signed as well.
I am surprised it's for two years though

Two is probably a requirement to get him to come for one. Willing to be the's not in the fold for that long, in the end.
Harris has looked about as done as done gets for a few years now. No harm in bringing him in for a workout and maybe giving him some short money to see if he can make the roster, but I doubt this is an impact player we're talking about.

I saw Tommie Harris all throughout his tenure in Chicago. The hamstring injuries killed him. Too bad, cause he was dominating. Could be a good rotational guy with Wilfork and Haynesworth.

Agreed - I don't think the Patriots would have been able to sign Light to a one-year deal.

I think Tommie could reinvent himself as a 3-4 DE. He's lost some of the burst that made him an absolute terror as an UT from injuries. But he's a pretty smart DL, and has the physical make-up to fit the role.
