Jared Gaither Rumors
I have heard from all over the place that Jared Gaither will be entering the supplement draft, because he has some academic issues.
If he does enter, where do you think he goes? He has potential for being a top10 pick.

Gaither is a great athlete, but people need to realize that is a large right tackle who was even close to being the best offensive lineman on his team last year. He seemed to have regressed a bit in terms of play quality last season, and I really don't see a team dropping anything more than a 4th or 5th on the guy.

guys im sorry but... jared gaither sucks, being huge doesn't make him a good offensive lineman. and i go to maryland, so im not biased against him.

I wouldn't go as far as to say he sucks, but he definately doesn't deserve all the hype he is recieveing.

Scott said that if Jared entered he'd likely be a 4th or 5th Round pick with the 3rd Round being the absolute best case scenario.

I believe 2 or 3 Maryland OL made ALL ACC (for Rivals at least). Gaither was not one of them

Decent athlete - nothing that special though. No better than Alex Barron, Mario Henderson or Eric Winston.
I'd be suprised if goes for higher than a 6th.

Isnt he entering his junior year? I really think its too early to tell, give him the first few weeks of the year before you write the guy off

Should stay in school... he is huge and does have a LOT of potential, but he is nothing close to a NFL ready good player. With that being said, I wouldn't the Bears placing a 4th round bid on him. We need OT depth.

I haven't written him off to any degree, but I'm just trying to stress that he is in no way at this point an elite prospect.

Completely agree. 5th or 6th round pick at best, in the comp. draft.

How would he fit in the ZBS?

^About as well as Mike Vick would fit in at a PETA meeting.
Gaither has a lot of strides to make before he is close to an NFL level pass blocker. Dallas, Philly and Arizona would be more ideal fits if you ask me.

The one thing Gaither has going for him is his ridiculous athleticism. 6-8, runs a 4.8, 36 inch vert. I think the only one close in that group is Winston, and there are better athletes at OT than Barron and Henderson.

I don't think he would work out for us, I think Eagles would be a perfect fit for him.
