Default Biggest draft pick letdown

I have wanted to post this and get opinions on it for some time. I would like to see everyone's pick for the biggest draft pick let down in the last few years. By this, I dont mean the biggest bust, because you might not have been a fan of the biggest bust when he was drafted.

For example-My biggest letdown in the last few years by far has been Skyler Green. Not that I thought he would ever be a starting wide receiver. But He was a real good returner in the toughest college confrence going to a team that really needed a return specialist. I thought he had all the makings to be our return specialist for a long time. He was only a fourth round pick, but I thought Dallas was the perfect place for him to make his mark, and I knew he would be given every chance to succeed.

I know we have had higher picks that havent panned out. Thats not what I am talking about. I want to hear who you guys thought was gonna make an impact but didnt.

So??? Lets here it!

I absolutly loved Ross... I thought he was gonna be big time and after his rookie year...wow, i though we had stud on our hands...

I was wrong.

Mine was definitely Drew Henson. I thought we had gotten a steal from the Texans with him. I thought he'd be a very good QB in this league and he turned into absolutely nothing.

I really thought Peterman and Rogers were going to solidify our line for the next few years. I was thinking, "Alrite guys from winning programs, and Parells type guys. YES! Our O-line is set". The previous years we took Gurode and A. Johnson, so I really believe our future at O-line was going to be straight SICK. Danm was I wrong.

God I hated that 2004 draft.

Jacob Rodgers in the last few years. Peterman I never really thought would turn out, but I thought Rodgers definitely would.

Al Johnson sliding to the second round was a huge steal for us...to bad he couldn't play here....getting injured early on really hurt him.

I, too, would have to agree with Rogers and Peterman, especially given that we have had to really open the checkbook for OL.

Biggest draft letdown? Having Steven Jackson fall into our laps, and trading back for Julius Jones...It's not even close for me. I wanted us to trade up for him and finally get the guy we needed to replace Emmitt.

Didn't you end up getting DeMarcus Ware with that trade? Seems about even.

Actually, the DeMarcus Ware pick was Dallas' own. The pick we got from Buffalo only turned out to be about 21st or 22nd, and we used that on Marcus Spears. So far, to me anyway, Julius Jones + Marcus Spears < Steven Jackson. I hope the trade with Cleveland works out better for us.

To me, JJ + Marcus spears is about equal to Steven Jackson AND I think this year it will end up being superior.

You have to factor in JJ's ability to get TD's if he were used in that manner. MBIII gets the goal line carries so JJ's stats suffer from that. Would he be as good as MBIII in that role? Who knows. If he were used in the role he would have had at least 10 TD's in my mind (to MBIII's 16).

It's like in NYG that Tiki didn't get the carries at the goal line that Brandon Jabos did, but can you honestly say that Tiki (a boarderline HOF running back) wouldn't have been good in that role? It's not as if a goal line back HAS to be 230 lbs or more. Marcus Allen and Emmitt Smith, two of the best at getting in the endzone, were not bruising backs either.

As mentioned before, it was Spears and not Ware. But if it had been Ware it wouldn't be even, it would be a STELLAR trade for the Cowboys. STL would trade Jackson for Ware AND more picks much less have JJ in the picture. No running back in the league is worth a pro-bowl pass rusher with the possible exception of LT.

I couldn't agree more. Pass rusher trumps running back. Everytime.
