The Secret World of Alex Mack

The show focuses on a teenage girl, Alexandra "Alex" Mack, who becomes accidentally contaminated with an experimental chemical substance called GC-161. This results in certain powers, such as the ability to "zap" people and objects with an electrical charge, move objects by telekinesis, and change her shape into a silvery liquid. Throughout the series, the owners of the chemical plant which had been researching GC-161 continuously search for the local kid who was contaminated in order to conduct experiments, although their attempts are futile. Alex's best friend Ray, and eventually her sister, Annie, help her conceal the accident and her powers from her parents and others.

Rocko's Modern Life

Rocko's Modern Life was an American animated television series whose four seasons aired from 1993 to 1996. The show was based around the surreal, parodistic adventures of an anthropomorphic wallaby named Rocko, and his life in the city of O-Town. The series was created by Joe Murray. One of Nickelodeon's Nicktoons, it was the fourth series released in the Nicktoons group, and the first to be introduced since the original three were introduced in August 1991. The program was produced by Joe Murray Animation, and occasionally by Games Productions.

Salute Your Shorts

Salute Your Shorts was an American comedy/drama television series aired on Nickelodeon from 1991-1992. The series, created by Steve Slavkin, was set at a summer camp, Camp Anawanna, and was centered on the teenage campers and their situations such as boys vs. girls, schemes for sneaking out of the camp, and going against their counselor Kevin "Ug" Lee. Salute Your Shorts was based off the book of the same name. The book was written by the executive producer and creator, Steve Slavkin.

Clarissa Explains It All

Clarissa Explains It All was a American situation comedy television series from Nickelodeon starring a then unknown Melissa Joan Hart. Sixty-five episodes were shown from 1991 to 1994. In the series, Clarissa, a teenager, breaks the fourth wall and describes the things that are happening in her life (dealing with typical teen concerns such as school, pimples and an aggravating little brother) to her television audience.

Legends of the Hidden Temple

Legends of the Hidden Temple was a game show hosted by Kirk Fogg that aired on Nickelodeon from 1993-1995. The show was produced by Nickelodeon in association with Stone Stanley Productions (who were also the producers of Shop 'Til You Drop and Fun House). It was a physical challenge game show, with six teams of two children (one boy and one girl) competing for prizes. The format of Legends was similar to other physical challenge shows of the time, such as Double Dare and GUTS.

Ren And Stimpy

Ren and Stimpy are the eponymous characters of two American animated television series created by Canadian animator John Kricfalusi. Ren Höek, a neurotic "asthma-hound" chihuahua, and Stimpson J. Cat (a.k.a Stimpy), a fat red simpleton (but occasionally intelligent) cat, wander around in nonsensical adventures reminiscent of the golden age of American animation. Kricfalusi created the characters around 1979, while working for low-budget TV cartoons after moving to the United States. The characters were originally conceived as individual doodles unrelated to one another, and it was Kricfalusi's co-worker Joel Fajnor who told Kricfalusi to pair them together.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? was a horror-themed television series for children. The original series was a joint production of the Canadian companies YTV, Cinar, and the American company Nickelodeon. Although the episode "The Tale of the Twisted Claw" first debuted as a pilot for the show on Halloween, 1991, Are You Afraid of the Dark ran between August 15, 1992 and February 3, 1996 on Nickelodeon's SNICK. A revived series with new directors, new writers, and a new cast was produced by Nickelodeon from 1999 to 2000 and also played on SNICK.

GUTS was a 30-minute "action-sports" game show which aired on Nickelodeon from 1992 to 1995. Mike O'Malley presided as host; Moira Quirk (often called Mo) was the referee. The show was taped at Nickelodeon Studios in Universal Studios Florida.

All That was an American live-action sketch comedy-variety show on Nickelodeon. It drew favorable comparisons to Saturday Night Live for its short comedic sketches and weekly musical guests.[1] The theme song for All That was performed by TLC. The show first aired on April 16, 1994 as a "special preview" and debuted as a regular series on December 24, 1994.[2] All That originally featured mainly young adults, but from Season 7 onward, it made a big switch to feature only preteens.

Double Dare

Double Dare was a children's game show, originally hosted by Marc Summers, that aired on Nickelodeon. It is often credited with putting the then-fledgling network on the map. The show originated from the WHYY-TV studios in Philadelphia in 1986. In 1987, the show temporarily moved to New York City for a special weekend edition called Super Sloppy Double Dare. The show returned to Philadelphia in 1988; by then Viacom syndicated the show to the young Fox network. In markets where the Fox station wasn't owned and operated, or there was no Fox station, the show aired on independent stations. The Super Sloppy format reappeared the following year, and production of the show moved to Universal Studios Florida, where it remained until its cancellation in 1992. The final episodes aired in 1993.

Doug is an American animated television series on Nickelodeon and is the first Nicktoon ever made, starring a 7th grader named Doug Funnie (full name: Douglas Yancey Funnie). The series originated with an unpublished book, Doug Got a New Pair of Shoes, by artist and series creator Jim Jinkins and writer Joe Aaron. The series premiered on Nickelodeon in 1991, where it ran until 1996. The episodes shown on Nickelodeon were produced during 1991-1994.

Nick Arcade was a game show hosted by Phil Moore that aired on the Nickelodeon television network in America from 1992 to 1993 (in the first season, the shows were taped in 1991 and aired in early 1992), airing originally during weekend afternoons. The show was the first in America to regularly intermix live action with animation using a bluescreen (Knightmare was the first show worldwide). Two teams of contestants played two initial rounds, with the winner advancing to play "inside a video game."

Figure it Out

Figure It Out was a television game show hosted by Summer Sanders that originally aired on Nickelodeon and is now shown on Nick Games and Sports (Nick GAS). Kids with special skills or unique achievements compete as contestants on the show while a panel of four Nickelodeon celebrities compete against the clock as they try to guess the predetermined phrase that describes the contestant's talent.

Hey Arnold! was an American animated television series on Nickelodeon from October 7, 1996 through June 8, 2004 (initial run in US). Created by Craig Bartlett, and based on his clay animation shorts on Sesame Street and comics, the show stars grade-schooler Arnold, who lives with his grandparents Phil and Gertrude, proprietors of the Sunset Arms boarding house. (His doctor parents Stella and Miles went missing while on an international rescue mission). The series takes place in Hillwood City, a fictional locale resembling Brooklyn, New York, although one episode identifies it as being in Washington State.

KaBlam! is an American animated television series that ran on Nickelodeon from 1996 to 2000. It features a collection of short films in several different styles of animation, bridged by the characters of Henry and June, who introduce the shorts, and have adventures of their own. It also was shown in the United Kingdom from 1997-2000, and in Poland from 1999-2002. It currently airs on Australia's Nickelodeon affiliate and on NickToons Network.

I miss good cartoons. Everything now sucks.

I used to watch these programs religiously. Salute Your Shorts is still one of my all time favorite shows. They should still show these shows on nick, I would still watch. btw, Legends of the Hidden Temple, and Guts both sucked.

Dude, I've been trying to find a bunch of old Nick shows on DVD. The TV shows kids have these days are absolute crap.

I grew up on the tail end of that trend, but i love it.
