Scott Wright: What is your accurate height, weight and forty time?
Brandon Thompson: 6’2½, 307, 4.97
Scott Wright: There has been speculation that you could fit as either a three-technique defensive tackle in a 4-3 or a five-technique defensive end in a 3-4 at the next level. What are your thoughts and do you have a preference?
Brandon Thompson: I think I could play either position, and I would be happy with either, but my preference would be nose tackle or three-technique.
Scott Wright: Your former teammate Jarvis Jenkins, who many feel you share a similar skill set to, was just a second round pick of the Washington Redskins in the 2011 NFL Draft. Has Jenkins given you any advice about the draft process and what to expect in the coming months?
Brandon Thompson: Jarvis has told me to stay focused and not let the outside get to me, and to work hard and stay conditioned.
Scott Wright: What is your greatest strength as a football player and what area do you need to work on the most?
Brandon Thompson: My greatest strength is run defense and the thing I need to work on most is pass rush skills.
Scott Wright: What current NFL defensive lineman do you most admire and who do you think you compare favorably to?
Brandon Thompson: I really admire Jarvis (Jenkins). As for someone I compare favorably to, I’d probably say Sedrick Ellis.
Scott Wright: How would you describe your personality? Is it different on the football field?
Brandon Thompson: My personality is easy-going. I’m fun to be around and I like to talk a lot. My personality is definitely different on the football field though.
Scott Wright: What is your greatest football moment to date?
Brandon Thompson: My greatest football moment so far was playing in my first game, and running down The Hill for the first time, against The Citadel in 2008.
Scott Wright: What are your favorite and least favorite parts of playing football?
Brandon Thompson: My favorite thing about playing football has been all of the great people I have met. I also love playing in night games. I don’t really have a least favorite part, but preseason camp isn’t a whole lot of fun.
Scott Wright: Who was your favorite college or pro team growing up? Did you have a favorite player?
Brandon Thompson: My favorite teams growing up were the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Hurricanes. My favorite player was probably Warren Sapp.
Scott Wright: Is there one younger player at Clemson that you see developing into a star, either at the college or pro level?
Brandon Thompson: Malliciah Goodman (Currently a Junior Defensive End).
Scott Wright: Who is the best opposing player you have faced during your career?
Brandon Thompson: Orlando Franklin (Former Miami (FL) and Now with Denver Broncos.
Scott Wright: What current pro are you looking forward to going up against in the NFL?
Brandon Thompson: New York Jets C Nick Mangold.
Scott Wright: What advice would you give to the 18-year-old version of yourself if you could go back in time?
Brandon Thompson: Stay focused, work hard and strive for greatness.
Scott Wright: What do you plan to do once your playing career is over?
Brandon Thompson: I think I would like to own a few car dealerships.
Scott Wright: When you get your first NFL paycheck what is the first thing you will buy?
Brandon Thompson: The first thing I will buy will definitely be a new car for my mom.
Scott Wright: What is the most embarrassing song on your iPod?

Scott Wright: Do you intend to play in any all-star games such as the Senior Bowl after the season?
Brandon Thompson: I plan to play in the Senior Bowl.
Scott Wright: It’s obviously still early but do you have any goals in mind when it comes to the NFL Draft (i.e. Round 1, Top 3 Rounds, etc.)?
Brandon Thompson: I hope to be one of the top fifteen players drafted.
