Doesn't have the ideal height that you look for...Short arms...Marginal athlete...Not overly quick or explosiveness...Has some trouble getting off blocks...Average pass rusher with a limited repertoire...Upside ???
Notes:
Cousin, Bryce Scanlon, was a defensive lineman at Utah...Also a powerlifter in high school...Was a captain in the 2005 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, MVP of the practices and finished second in the game MVP voting...Played extensively as a true freshman in 2005 on the Longhorns National Championship team...Worked as a backup in 2006 and 2007, getting six starts as an injury replacement...Took over a starting job in 2008...Was Defensive MVP of the Fiesta Bowl and earned All-Big 12 honors as a senior...Also worked as a fullback in goaline situations...Bit of an overachiever whose intangibles are more impressive than his physical tools...Might not be starting material but can excel in a backup capacity...The type you should never count out.
