Strengths:
Adequate height and bulk...Fairly accurate passer with nice touch and timing...Has a good throwing motion and release...Very tough and durable...Intelligent with a good football IQ...Can read a defense and go through his progressions...Very mature...Has a fantastic work ethic... Was a team leader and captain ...Product of a pro style offense.
Weaknesses:
Just average arm strength...Not very athletic or mobile...Poor pocket awareness...Does not handle pressure well...Takes too many chances and needs to be more careful with the ball...Wasn't overly productive.
Notes:
A two-year starter who backed up current Detroit Lion Drew Stanton early in his career...Ranks among the Spartans career leaders in pass attempts (2nd), passing yards (3rd), pass completions (3rd), TD passes (6th) and completion percentage (10th)...Big things were expected from him in 2008 following a strong junior season but he lost some weapons and struggled at times...Had a strong showing at the East / West Shrine Game and really improved his draft stock...Isn't the most physically impressive signal caller but possesses excellent intangibles and might have the potential to develop into a backup at the pro level.
