Strengths:
Very good height and bulk...Terrific hands...Plucks the ball out of the air and will make the difficult catch...Excellent route runner and knows how to get open...Nice ball skills and body control...Shows the ability to get his feet down along the sideline...Tough and will work the middle of the field...Adequate blocker...Smart with great awareness and a high football IQ...Incredible work ethic...Durable...Experienced.
Weaknesses:
Just average speed and quickness...Not very explosive and lacks a burst...Has trouble getting separation...Not real elusive and doesn't do a lot after the catch...Isn't much of a vertical threat...Upside is limited.
Notes:
Father, Terry, played in the NFL and is currently the wide receivers coach of the Atlanta Falcons...Contributed on special teams as a true freshman...Was buried behind future first round picks Santonio Holmes, Ted Ginn, Jr. and Anthony Gonzalez early in his career but took over a full-time starting job in 2007...Was Ohio State's leading receiver in both 2007 and 2008...Missed spring ball in 2008 after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery and also battled a shoulder injury early in the year...Production tailed off as a senior when raw true frosh Terrelle Pryor, who is more of a runner than passer, took over the starting quarterback job...Also ran the 4x100 relay in outdoor track for the Buckeyes...Makes up for a lack of eye-popping physical tools with top-notch intangibles...Not very flashy but is just a good football player ... Profiles as a classic possession type in the NFL.
