Round 1-3 Mock Draft
Pick | Team | Player | Explanation |
---|---|---|---|
| Jacksonville Jaguars | Travon Walker EDGE/Georgia | The Jaguars look like they will swing for the fences with Walker who will have the least college sacks of any Top 3 EDGE rusher since 2000. He is a top tier athlete who was the best player on the field in the National Championship. Opposite Josh Allen, the Jaguars defense gets a huge boost and could be a very good unit in 2022. |
| Detroit Lions | Aidan Hutchinson EDGE/Michigan | Hutchinson is the hometown Michigan guy who would fill right in to set the edge and be a bull rush pass rusher. He has huge strength and an athletic build to get to the passer. Hutchinson's game against Ohio State and made him a ton of money an settling down in Detroit with the Lions is ideal. |
| Houston Texans | Ahmad Gardner CB/Cincinnati | The Texans seem to have prioritized CB but will have to decide between Gardner and Derek Stingley. Gardner has the full resume shutting down WRs and never allowing a TD in college. He showed up against the big boys but may not quite have the athletic upside of Stingley. This would boost the Texans secondary massively. |
| New York Jets | Ikem Ekwonu OT/NC State | The Jets could fill their RT spot with an excellent run blocker who flashed high end pass blocking upside. Ekwonu who give some massive bookends who will help Zach Wilson stay upright. |
| New York Giants | Derek Stingley CB/LSU | Stingley had an incredible freshman season, but injuries and a lack of effort led to many uqestions. The Giants can use a stud #1 CB who can jam at the line and stick with the top WRs in their division. Stingley has huge upside if he stays healthy and focused. |
| Carolina Panthers | Evan Neal OT/Alabama | The Panthers may pass on a QB to take the LT with the most upside in Neal. He wasn't always consistent, but flashing dominant pancake ability in the run game and great athleticism in the pass game, Neal could help CMC run wild again. |
| New York Giants (f/ CHI) | Charles Cross OT/Mississippi State | Cross is the best pure pass blocking OT in the draft and would give the Giants a nice RT to help against good pass rushers. He flashes run blocking athletic upside, but may need to transition after being in the Mike Leach offense. |
| Atlanta Falcons | Jermaine Johnson EDGE/Florida State | Johnson transferred from Georgia to FSU and had one of the best college seasons this year. Not only did he show the bend and movement to get after the QB, but he set the edge against the run. The Falcons have needed a pass rusher for a long time and Johnson would end that search. |
| Seattle Seahawks (f/ DEN) | Quay Walker LB/Georgia | Surprise! Walker has been a rising name, and the Seahawks are known for just getting their guy. Maybe they move down and make this move, but Walker has huge athletic upside to be the next Bobby Wagner type of the Seahawks defense. Despite bigger needs, the Seahawks will stick to their board and go from there. |
| New York Jets (f/ SEA) | Kayvon Thibodeaux EDGE/Oregon | Thibodeaux has been my #1 player in this class since high school and would be an absolute steal at 10. The Jets may even opt to take him at 4 to ensure they get a high end pass rusher to fill the defense. A smart player with an explosive first step, Thibodeaux will be a pass rushing phenom who will be tough to stop. |
| Washington Commanders | Garrett Wilson WR/Ohio State | Wilson has great body control and gets off the line super quick. He can get open and give Carson Wentz a nice short passing weapon who has deep speed too. Ron Rivera went to Ohio State's Pro Day and saw Wilson and teammate Chris Olave first hand, so pairing Terry McLaurin with another Buckeye makes sense. |
| Minnesota Vikings | Jameson Williams WR/Alabama | If teams feel great on Jameson's medical, he should be a Top 12 pick. The speed and height while flashing dominant receiving skills gives great upside. The Vikings no longer will have a 2 WR system with 12 personnel, so more weapons to take the top off the defense is needed. |
| Houston Texans (f/ CLE) | Kyle Hamilton S/Notre Dame | Hamilton has fallen off due to position and a slow 40 time, but the Texans could complete their secondary by nabbing him as a do it all Ed Reed type safety with size. Hamilton's ball skills are out of this world, and he would instantly upgrade any defense he is on. |
| Baltimore Ravens | Trevor Penning OT/Northern Iowa | The Ravens love Penning's tenacity and desperately need to upgrade at OT. His strength and nastiness is typical Baltimore going up in physical match-ups. |
| Philadelphia Eagles (f/ MIA) | Jordan Davis DL/Georgia | The Eagles always lean into the trenches and Jordan Davis adds a run stuffer with athletic pass rushing upside would help this defense. |
| New Orleans Saints (f/ IND through PHI) | Chris Olave WR/Ohio State | Olave has the speed and smoothness to be the #2 the Saints have looked for. |
| Los Angeles Chargers | Zion Johnson G/Boston College | An OT would be great, but Zion Johnson's experience allows a versatile offensive line piece who can protect Justin Herbert. |
| Philadelphia Eagles (f/ NO) | Drake London WR/Southern Cal | London has the size to add a new dimension to the Eagles offense and should force safeties to make a decision between him and Devonta Smith. |
| New Orleans Saints (f/ PHI) | Kenny Pickett QB/Pittsburgh | Pickett's leadership and experience would allow him to step in sooner rather than later in a Saints offense that works to his strengths. |
| Pittsburgh Steelers | Malik Willis QB/Liberty | The Steelers always seem to get their target to fall to them and Willis seems to be the apple of Mike Tomlin's eye. A year to sit behind Mitch Trubisky could do wonders in improving his game. |
| New England Patriots | Trent McDuffie CB/Washington | McDuffie has short arms and may be a safety candidate, but he is sticky in coverage and gives the Patriots a new top CB. |
| Green Bay Packers (f/ LV) | Tyler Smith OT/Tulsa | Smith is forgotten, but he is young with a ton of athletic movement skills. The Packers could find a sneaky starter on the OL here. |
| Arizona Cardinals | George Karlafitis EDGE/Purdue | Karlafitis has fallen a bit, but the Cardinals need a good pass rusher with a ton of production and leadership. |
| Dallas Cowboys | Treylon Burks WR/Arkansas | The Jones' can't help themselves with a Razorback weapon who can be a big slot or outside WR to compliment CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup. |
| Buffalo Bills | Lewis Cine S/Georgia | Cine is a versatile saftey who could add a coverage presence in a Bills secondary lacking playmakers. |
| Tennessee Titans | Kenyon Green G/Texas A&M | The Titans need to get some bad ass OL to help pave holes for Derrick Henry. Green has the experience needed. |
| Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Daxton Hill S/Michigan | Hill can be a slot CB who is physical against the run. A good defensive leader who would fit in Tampa. |
| Green Bay Packers | Devonte Wyatt DL/Georgia | Wyatt has some off field questions, but he checks the boxes for the Packers to be a penetrating DL. |
| Kansas City Chiefs (f/ MIA through SF) | Logan Hall EDGE/Houston | Hall can be a DL/EDGE hybrid the Chiefs like who adds an athletic pass rushing presence. |
| Kansas City Chiefs | Jahan Dotson WR/Penn State | Dotson is a small WR who plays big and can be more complete. A great fit to fill a starting role. |
| Cincinnati Bengals | Kaiir Elam CB/Florida | Elam may go higher than this with his physicality at the line as a jam corner who can play the run. |
| Detroit Lions (f/ LAR) | Devin Lloyd LB/Utah | Lloyd will go somewhere in the first round and would be an absolute steal for the Lions at 32. |

| Jacksonville Jaguars | Nakobe Dean LB/Georgia | Dean had some incredible games making plays for Georgia and adds a second level coverage LB for the Jaguars. |
| Detroit Lions | Sam Howell QB/North Carolina | Howell could be the fit the Lions want as a tough player who grits production. |
| New York Jets | Tyler Linderbaum C/Iowa | Linderbaum falls to the second round but is a perfect fit for the Jets Inside Zone Scheme. |
| New York Giants | Trey McBride TE/Colorado State | The Giants need a TE badly and McBride gives a great safety valve for Daniel Jones and future QBs. |
| Houston Texans | Breece Hall RB/Iowa State | Hall is a 3-down RB who can catch the ball, just what the Texans ordered. |
| New York Jets (f/ CAR) | Skyy Moore WR/Western Michigan | Moore may not have the size the Jets would want in a compliment to Elijah Moore, but the talent is undeniable. |
| Chicago Bears | Nicholas Petit-Frere OT/Ohio State | Petit-Frere is a startable OT whose bad game against Michigan made him fall to the 2nd round. |
| Seattle Seahawks (f/ DEN) | Matt Corral QB/Mississippi | Corral is a great fit for the Seahawks as an RPO player with moxy. |
| Seattle Seahawks | Rasheed Walker OT/Penn State | Walker had an up and down year, but the phyiscal tools are undeniable. |
| Indianapolis Colts (f/ WAS) | Bernhard Raimann OT/Central Michigan | Raimann is an older convert who needs work, but as a RT for the Colts, he could be crazy good. |
| Atlanta Falcons | Desmond Ridder QB/Cincinnati | Ridder gives the Falcons an athletic QB to learn behind Marcus Mariota. |
| Cleveland Browns | Drake Jackson EDGE/Southern Cal | Jackson checks the Browns boxes as a young explosive pass rusher with huge upside. |
| Baltimore Ravens | Andrew Booth CB/Clemson | Booth's hernia surgery could have him fall, but he has CB1 upside. |
| Minnesota Vikings | Kyler Gordon CB/Washington | Gordon could be a first round pick as an athletic CB you can put on an island. |
| Washington Commanders (f/ IND) | Kenneth Walker III RB/Michigan State | Walker would give a compliment to Antonio Gibson and add another major weapon. |

| New Orleans Saints | Luke Goedeke OT/Central Michigan | Goedeke is a great run blocker with pass blocking upside. |
| Kansas City Chiefs (f/ MIA) | DeMarvin Leal DL/Texas A&M | Leal had a quiet season but would give an interior linemen to beef up the Chiefs front. |
| Philadelphia Eagles | Jaquan Brisker S/Penn State | Brisker is a missile in the seconday who can play the run well. |
| Pittsburgh Steelers | Travis Jones DL/UConn | Jones is a NT who has movement ability to be a 3-down player for the Steelers, but is very raw. |
| Green Bay Packers (f/LV) | Christian Watson WR/North Dakota State | Watson has the size and speed the Packers want in their players while giving a developmental WR to work with Aaron Rodgers. |
| New England Patriots | Perrion Winfrey DL/Oklahoma | Winfrey has a great first step and can get in the backfield quick. A tough Patriots type. |
| Arizona Cardinals | Cole Strange G/Chattanooga | Strange is very strong and can move well for the Kingsbury offense. |
| Dallas Cowboys | Arnold Ebiketie EDGE/Penn State | Ebiketie could be a 1st round pick, but he gives the Cowboys a versatile LB/EDGE player to move around. |
| Buffalo Bills | Sean Rhyan OT/UCLA | Rhyan can play G or OT for the Bills and help them protect Josh Allen. |
| Atlanta Falcons (f/ TEN) | Alec Pierce WR/Cincinnati | Pierce has the size and movement ot be a #1 WR for the Falcons. |
