If the Buffalo Bills were an overtime stop away from hosting the AFC Championship game. As it stands, they have very few holes to fill on their roster. Buffalo has star quarterback Josh Allen back for another run at the Super Bowl.
The Bills currently have eight draft picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.
I used the Mock Draft simulator from NFL Mock Draft Database. For this simulation, I used the consensus big board accumulated by NFL MDD, with the realistic draft mode setting.
Let’s see how it plays out.
BUFFALO BILLS: 7-ROUND MOCK DRAFT
1-25: Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington
The Bills could use another starting corner. 2021 7th-round pick Dane Jackson is currently projected to start. McDuffie has really good tape and his speed is good. However, his lack of length is concerning. He has sub-30″ arms. McDuffie only had two career interceptions and none came in 2021. There are other corners I like better and the board could fall that way for Buffalo. Regardless, McDuffie is an upgrade for the Bills.
2-57: Logan Hall, DL, Houston
Logan Hall is a scheme-versatile defensive lineman. He is a tremendous penetrator, with 13 TFLs this year and six sacks. I don’t believe Hall has the pass rush upside of his 2020 teammate Payton Turner, but there is a lot to love about his game and fit in Buffalo.
3-89: Isaiah Spiller, RB, Texas A&M
Spiller has been one of the most productive backs in the SEC over the last three years. The Texas A&M product was my RB1 at one point. Spiller has more pass-catching upside than the stat sheets may show. However, his poor athletic testing has pushed him down the board where going at pick 89 would not surprise me. He would give the Bills’ offense another option besides Zack Moss and Devin Singletary.
THE REST OF THE DRAFT
4-130: Justin Shaffer, G, Georgia
5-168: Reggie Roberson, WR, SMU
6-185: Baylon Spector, LB, Clemson
6-203: Cordale Flott, CB, LSU
7-231: Kalia Davis, DL, UCF
