The Dallas Cowboys offseason has been a tad tumultuous. Thanks to an ill-advised contract with Ezekiel Elliott, they have had to trade Amari Cooper and release La’el Collins. The Cowboys also had some contractual language issues that led to Randy Gregory bidding them adieu.
Dallas has nine selections in the 2022 NFL Draft.
I used the Mock Draft simulator from NFL Mock Draft Database. For this simulation, I used the consensus big board accumulated by NFL MDD, with the realistic draft mode setting.
Let’s see how it plays out.
DALLAS COWBOYS: 7-ROUND MOCK DRAFT
1-24: Lewis Cine, S, Georgia
Cine is a freak athlete. He saved his best game for last with his stellar performance in the national title game. Cine is a preeminent player at the safety position. Which, coincidentally, is a huge need for the Cowboys.
2-56: Dylan Parham, G, Memphis
While not an immediate need in Big D, Parham is a superb athlete that can play guard or center for the Cowboys. Parham started at left tackle for Memphis.
3-88: Zachary Carter, DL, Florida
The Cowboys can use the depth and pass rush upside that comes with a productive player like Zachary Carter.
THE REST OF THE DRAFT
4-129: Terrel Bernard, LB, Baylor
5-155: Grant Calcaterra, TE, SMU
5-167: Alex Wright, EDGE, UAB
5-176: Braxton Jones, OT, Southern Utah
5-178: Leon O’Neal, S, Texas A&M
6-193: Chase Lucas, CB, Arizona State
