The San Francisco 49ers were nearly the NFC representative in Super Bowl LVI. However, a late interception ended their hopes. SO now, Kyle Shanahan will seemingly be turning over signal caller duties to last year’s third-overall selection, Trey Lance.
The 49ers currently have nine draft picks. However, seven of them are on day three.
I used the Mock Draft simulator from NFL Mock Draft Database. For this simulation, I used the consensus big board accumulated by NFL MDD, with the realistic draft mode setting.
Let’s see how it plays out.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS: 7-ROUND MOCK DRAFT
2-61: Tariq Woolen, CB, UTSA
The 49ers signed Charvarius Ward in free agency but still need another corner. Enter fast rising prospect, Tariq Woolen. Did I mention fast? Woolen ran a 4.28 forty at the combine at 6’4″ 208-pounds. He has great length and good cover skills. It might even be wishful thinking that Woolen is still on the board at 61.
3-93: Chasen Hines, G, LSU
This may be a small reach here but the 49ers have a hole on the interior with the loss of Laken Tomlinson. Hines is a nasty blocker. He was solid at the Senior Bowl and tested like an elite athlete at the Combine.
4-102: Nick Cross, S, Maryland
Speaking of elite athletes, there weren’t many better in Indy than Maryland’s Nick Cross. He is a hard hitter with good range. The Terrapins used him as an extra rusher a ton. Cross is a potential starter with nearly guaranteed special teams upgrades.
4-133: Brian Robinson, RB, Alabama
The San Francisco 49ers have a menagerie of running backs on the roster but they can always use one more. Robinson tested better than I thought he would. he also still has a good amount of tread left on the ole tires.
THE REST OF THE DRAFT
5-172: Tyree Johnson, DL, Texas A&M
6-186: Kevin Austin Jr., WR, Notre Dame
7-252: Jordan Jackson, DL, Air Force
7-255: Andrew Steuber, G, Michigan
7-262: Isaiah Weston, WR, Northern Iowa
