The Broncos are one of few teams with no first OR second-round picks in the 2023 draft. Their first pick is not until number 67 overall, but between the Russell Wilson acquisition last offseason and more recently Head Coach Sean Payton, they are simply paying their dues. There aren’t many NFL Draft odds for Denver, but they could be intriguing to investigate.Â
Denver has also had a nice free agency between attaining Coach Payton and some other help- notably on their struggling offensive line. Let’s look at some draft picks that could help rebound this team!
Denver Broncos Mock Draft (2023)
Round 3, Number 67 overall (Via Colts): Isaiah Foskey, DE, Notre Dame
A guy like Foskey would do wonders for a team that had good numbers on defense last season and are so close to being a powerhouse squad. Because Denver runs a 3-4 defense, they could put him outside as a linebacker and let him go to work.Â
Round 3, Number 68 overall: C Joe Tippman, Wisconsin
Denver helped out their O-line with Mike McGlinchey and Ben Powers, but having a stud guy like Tippman to anchor the line would really solidify things for Wilson and company. Current Center Lloyd Cushenberry holds the O-line hostage with his mediocre play so I believe an upgrade here would be a steal by the third round. Tippman’s athleticism would create space in both the pass and run game.
Round 4, Number 108 overall: Tank Bigsby, RB, Auburn
Payton would have a field day with a guy like Bigsby! His patience, quick feet, and his receiving potential would check some big boxes for this offense that needs a reliable backfield.
Round 5, Number 139 overall: Payne Durham, TE, Purdue
A big, blocking-able TE like Durham would be such an asset on this offense. On the line with Jeudy and Sutton, his quickness and willingness to make big blocks could open up this high-ceiling offense.
Round 6, Number 195 (Via Steelers): Myles Brooks, CB, Louisiana Tech
This team can use some depth out in space and Brooks may be just the guy to fill this role. His ability to play both man and zone is extremely beneficial and he could be an exciting player to mold from DC Evero’s perspective. He has admirable patience and only allowed 46% of targets to be caught during his college career.
