This time of year, all the smoke screens start getting thicker, so let’s make sure to take the pulse of the mock draft community and see who is the consensus for the 1st round in this month’s draft!

BREAKING IT DOWN

The first 9 picks stayed completely unchanged, and I think the positions drafted make sense for sure. It’ll be fun to see what happens from pick 4 on, as it feels like the draft movement starts with whatever team makes the move with Arizona. On the flip side, is JJ McCarthy worthy of making that kind of trade? I don’t see it, I could see Minnesota landing him at pick 11 but don’t see anyone paying such a high price.

I know people didn’t love me taking edge rusher Dallas Turner for Atlanta but it makes a ton of sense to do so. If you look at the popularity numbers for each pick, only 6 of them in the first round are above 50%, so do with that what you will. The way I see it is that position-wise, a lot of the picks are probably the positions the team would draft (if they stay at their pick). The reason I say that is that if you look at MDDB’s consensus mocks from previous years, you don’t see trades but after the 1st pick is 100% accurate, all bets are off!
