As we get further into the season and the sample size widens, more is becoming clear with the 2022 NFL Draft. The dominance of the Georgia defense and a few explosive passing games find players going in the Top 100. Take a look at this mock draft and feel free to post your feedback on the Draft Countdown Forum.

Round 1-3
Pick | Team | Player | Explanation |
---|---|---|---|
| Detroit Lions | Matt Corral QB/Mississippi | Corral has improved this season and has all the traits you want. Big arm, good downfield accuracy, and the ability to take off and move under pressure. His quick release will be in demand. If the Lions pick #1, they need that QB, and Corral could be it. |
| Philadelphia Eagles (f/ MIA) | Kayvon Thibodeaux EDGE/Oregon | Thibodeaux is the best player in this draft bar none. Even though it isn't a huge need, the Eagles can't pass on the explosive first step of Thibodeaux. He can step in and be on the Myles Garrett level of pass rushers |
| Jacksonville Jaguars | Evan Neal OT/Alabama | Evan Neal is a physical monster who can maul in the run game as well as the pass game. He has been downright dominant this season and gives a blindside blocker who can change an offense. Adding him to Trevor Lawrence could really help this offense. |
| Houston Texans | Sam Howell QB/North Carolina | Howell isn't flashy, but he gets the job done. His decision making and experience make him an attractive candidate to be a high draft pick. He has been carrying the North Carolina offense this year, even running a bit. If the Texans aren't sold on Davis Mills, they could opt for Howell. |
| New York Giants | Kyle Hamilton S/Notre Dame | Hamilton is a special safety who can make plays in the secondary or bring the lumber. He is a defense changing type of pick who forces QBs to always know where he is. He can even play some CB if needed. The Giants secondary needs some major help, and it would start with Hamilton. |
| New York Jets | Kingsley Enagbare EDGE/South Carolina | Enagbare has been the bright spot for a sad Gamecocks team. He moves well for his size and uses his hands to win off the edge. He has been a terror for SEC QBs and offensive lines can't even double team him successfully. The Jets could put him opposite Carl Lawson and have a deadly duo to help the defense. |
| New England Patriots | Derek Stingley Jr. CB/LSU | Stingley had an amazing freshman year then took a step back in Year 2. He is big, athletic, and can stick with any opposing WR. An injury will likely sideline him for the rest of the year and it could cause a slight fall. The Patriots would have a new stud CB to remake that defense. |
| Philadelphia Eagles | Charles Cross OT/Mississippi State | Cross isn't a known name yet, but he has handled himself. Alabama moved Will Anderson away from Cross to have success, and he was stonewalling who was in front of him. The athletic foot movement and strength would give the Eagles a bookend on either side they could us. |
| Philadelphia Eagles (f/ IND) | Kaiir Elam CB/Florida | Elam is a physical CB who can make big plays. Add in good make-up speed, and he is a starting NFL CB in the right system. The Eagles secondary has been surprisingly good this season, but a corner like Elam could complete a dominant unit. |
| New York Jets (f/ SEA) | Tyler Linderbaum C/Iowa | Linderbaum is an athletic Center who punishes the opposition. The best interior lineman in the class, he made the Iowa run game what it was. He could slide into Center or Guard and be an instant starter/upgrade for the Jets. |
| Washington Football Team | Malik Willis QB/Liberty | Willis' decision making is up and down, but his athleticism and downfield passing is off the charts. There is big upside for an offense who can build around his talents, and where better than the coach who made Cam Newton a star. Washington could even sit Willis for a year and let him develop. |
| Atlanta Falcons | Aidan Hutchinson EDGE/Michigan | Hutchinson will move up board after he lights up the Combine as a giant who moves like he is 50 pounds lighter. Coming back from injury, Hutchinson has shown he is back to his old self getting after the QB and setting the Edge. The Falcons could use that defensive upgrade to get after the passer. |
| Miami Dolphins (f/ SF) | Myron Cunningham OT/Arkansas | Cunningham hasn't had his best year, but the upside of an atheltic pass blocker who can play Guard or Tackle may be attractive for the Dolphins. |
| Tennessee Titans | DeMarvin Leal DL/Texas A&M | Leal had a great game against Alabama and is a penetrating nightmare. He would give interior pressure and a good run stuffer for the Titans. |
| Carolina Panthers | Jordan Davis DL/Georgia | Jordan Davis has been the cog that keeps the Georgia defense dominant. Rarely stopped outright, Davis makes big pressures on the interior every drive it seems. It could help firm up the Panthers run defense. |
| New York Giants (f/ CHI) | George Karlafitis DL/Purdue | Karlafitis has had a solid season to help the Purdue defense beat big opponents like Iowa. He can play DT or on the Edge and use a unique skillset to make a dent. The Giants would add a player who could take their defense to the next level. |
| Cleveland Browns | Treylon Burks WR/Arkansas | Burks has the size and athleticism to be a dominant alpha WR. The Browns seems to lack that, especially if Odell Beckham is off the roster. Burks and DPJ could be a crazy outside duo for a long time. |
| Pittsburgh Steelers | Kenyon Green G/Texas A&M | Green is such a good run blocking Guard, he can get to the second level and spring tough runs. He showcased this against Alabama this year and could slide in to start for the Steelers immediately. |
| Kansas City Chiefs | Garrett Wilson WR/Ohio State | Wilson is super athletic and would add an outside element to the Chiefs offense that it depserately lacks. Though he won't have Tyreek Hill speed, he can play in the slot, outside, and win one-on-one easily. |
| Denver Broncos | Nicholas Petit-Frere OT/Ohio State | Petit-Frere has been solid on the blindside for Ohio State this year. He moves fluidly and is a great pass protector. Denver could use a reserve (he could even kick to the interior) to help their offense run. |
| Minnesota Vikings | Devonte Wyatt DL/Georgia | Wyatt has paired with Davis to be a dominant interior lineman. He has even shown the ability at his size to kick to a 5-technique. The Vikings run defense needs a boost and he would give it |
| New Orleans Saints | Drake London WR/Southern Cal | London has shown some Mike Evans type ability this season dominating Pac-12 defenses. He would give the Saints a bit downfield threat to add to the offense. |
| Las Vegas Raiders | Christian Harris LB/Alabama | Harris has shown himself to be the leader of the Alabama defense and a crashing downhill pass rusher or run stuffer. He has improved in his pass coverage as well and should be an instant starter. He feels like a Mike Mayock Raiders pick. |
| Green Bay Packers | Chris Olave WR/Ohio State | Olave has had a successful career in his smooth movement ability. He could play the slot role and give Jordan Love an easy target to utilize. |
| Los Angeles Chargers | Jalen Wydermyer TE/Texas A&M | Wydermyer is a 2-way blocking and pass catching TE who has been excellent in the SEC from Day 1. For a team like the Chargers, he would be a healthier Hunter Henry to give Justin Herbert another weapon. |
| Cincinnati Bengals | Ahmad Gardner CB/Cincinnati | Gardner may not be the fastest or most athletic, but he doesn't allow catches. A physical player with top notch technique, he can give the Bengals a top CB. |
| Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Andrew Booth CB/Clemson | Booth has the deep speed and athleticism to be dominant but has never put it all together. The Bucs could mold him into CB depth. |
| Detroit Lions (f/ LAR) | Nakobe Dean LB/Georgia | Dean has been the leader of the Georgia defense who has shown great coverage ability. He could be a Bobby Wagner type for the Lions. |
| Dallas Cowboys | Jordan Battle S/Alabama | Battle isn't flashy, but he can play the run and has been improving as a tight end or RB cover Safety. This type of versatility would be big for the Cowboys. |
| Baltimore Ravens | Sean Rhyan OT/UCLA | Rhyan is a great run blocker who has created some holes for Zach Charbonnet this year. He would be a slam dunk fit for the Ravens movement offense. |
| Buffalo Bills | Isaiah Spiller RB/Texas A&M | Spiller is big and athletic. He essentially combines Zach Moss with Devin Singletary and would give the Bills a dominant back to handle the load. |
| Arizona Cardinals | Perrion Winfrey DL/Oklahoma | Winfrey's get off has been the one bright spot of the Sooners defense. He can rush from the interior and gives the Cardinals a great run stuffing option. |
