The college football season is heading to the end of the regular season and elite prospects are beginning to emerge for the NFL Draft. Players are solidifying themselves into the top 100 of the NFL Draft. Take a look at this mock draft and feel free to post your feedback on the Draft Countdown Forum.
The goal of a mock this early is more to gauge player value than make the best draft for each team, especially in the later rounds. A lot can change over the next few months, so please read with an open mind!

Round 1-3
Pick | Team | Player | Explanation |
---|---|---|---|
| Detroit Lions | Aidan Hutchinson EDGE/Michigan | The Lions do need a QB, but none are worthwhile of a #1 overall pick. Instead, they can take Hutchinson who is a Michigan raised kid playing at UM and now can stay home in the state. His blend of athelticism and strength is unmatched in this class when you add in his run defense ability. |
| Jacksonville Jaguars | Kayvon Thibodeaux EDGE/Oregon | Thibodeaux has an electric first step to get to the QB in record time. Opposite of Josh Allen, the Jaguars could have one of the best pass rushes in the league if they draft Thibodeaux. Though he won't give much in terms of stopping the run, no one matches his low play and athletic ability to dip around the line and finish sacks. |
| Houston Texans | Evan Neal OT/Alabama | Neal has size and athletic ability to be a blindside blocker plus an elite run blocker too. It could help change the offense of the Texans as they look to build the trenches and turn this team around. Neal could play LT or RT to help create holes and protect whatever QB is behind center. |
| New York Jets | George Karlaftis EDGE/Purdue | This might be a tad high for Karlaftis who has a few cold streaks this year, but the versatile piece could add a very good EDGE player for the Jets and help get the pass defense back in check. Add him in with injured Carl Lawson, and the Jets defense could end up scary. |
| New York Giants (f/ CHI) | Kyle Hamilton S/Notre Dame | The Giants get a gift of playmaking safety Kyle Hamilton at 5. Hamilton has amazing atheltic ability and closing speed to make big plays in coverage, while he has the size to really punish across the middle. Any type of spark for the defense would go a long way. |
| New York Giants | Ikem Ekwonu OL/NC State | Ekwonu can play OT or OG and could revitalize a porous line for the Giants. Ekwonu is a mauler who is quick to strike and has some pass blocking upside as well. His versatility should make him desirable for a team in the Top Ten. |
| Carolina Panthers | DeMarvin Leal DL/Texas A&M | The Panthers have struggled in many aspects, but interior pressure and run defense would be the one last piece to complete the defense. Leal has huge upside as an interior rusher and has the 2-gap range to stop the run for them. If they don't deem a QB or Offensive Lineman worth the pick, this would make sense. |
| New York Jets (f/ SEA) | Tyler Linderbaum C/Iowa | Linderbaum's athleticism and pure strength could see him be the highest drafted Center in decades. He can pull and create holes on his own while providing leadership and line calls. The Jets interior has been mediocre this year and a new Center (who can also play Guard) would create run space and help protect Zach Wilson. |
| Atlanta Falcons | David Ojabo EDGE/Michigan | Ojabo was overshadowed by Hutchinson, but his athletic abillity over the tackle leaves little to be desired. Ojabo uses his hands wel to gain an advantage along with his explosiveness. The Falcons have needed pass rush for years and this could be the guy to get it for them and help revitalize the defense. |
| Philadelphia Eagles (f/ MIA) | Derek Stingley Jr. CB/LSU | Stingley is a tad overrated after a year and a half of merely above average play, but his size, speed, and agility will be unmatched in this class. The Eagles have been up and down in terms of pass defense. Stingley could play some press man who be an elite zone corner. The versatility and upside put him still in the Top Ten. |
| Philadelphia Eagles | Devin Lloyd LB/Utah | Lloyd is starting to gather some buzz, but he could turn around the 2nd level of the Eagles defense and turn them into an absolute elite unit. Lloyd is an elite tackler with great form and has been showing off improved pass coverage. If he has a great Combine, expect to see him up this high. |
| Minnesota Vikings | Jordan Davis DL/Georga | Davis has had a tremendous year but his elite run defense may not be for every team. The Vikings have been so soft up the middle however, grabbing a guy who can 2-gap consistently should be a huge priority. Davis could go around this area or fall to the 2nd round, so the wide range is there. |
| New Orleans Saints | Kenny Pickett QB/Pittsburgh | Pickett is likely to be the first QB off the board with his ability to throw on the run but still show those "old school" QB traits. He would be a different type of passer for Sean Payton and the Saints, but his Football IQ to do what Drew Brees did would have to be on the mind of the Saints. Pickett only bouncing into the top QB spot so late in his career holds some concern, but not enough to keep him out of the Top 15. |
| Las Vegas Raiders | Jameson Williams WR/Alabama | Losing Henry Ruggs was a blow to this Raiders offense who need the threat of a deep WR to keep it going. The best at that this season is Williams who has been a marvel for Alabama. He is lightning quick off the line and gets to top speed quickly. Potentially a more complete WR than Ruggs as well, he would be a great fit for the Raiders. |
| Pittsburgh Steelers | Kenyon Green G/Texas A&M | The Steelers offensive line has been in shambles all season. With Trai Turner likely moving on, there will be yet another hole at Guard this next season, and a player like Kenyon Green can slide right in (or into LG and move Dotson over). Green has had consistent play for three years and can pull to help in the run game well. He could help repair a broken line for the team. |
| Denver Broncos | Matt Corral QB/DEN | Corral has a lightning quick release and some good mobility in the pocket. He has a little bit of John Elway in him and would be a great fit for the Broncos. GM George Paton has been the most active at seeing the top QBs in the draft live, and he knows it is the path to compete. Corral would thrive with the Broncos weapons. |
| Cincinnati Bengals | Trevor Penning OT/Northern Iowa | The Bengals could go back the Offensive Line well to get an upside OT like Penning who provides a tremendous presence. Penning glides with athletic ability despite his size, and he is a brute at his level of competition. Perhaps the best player I've seen at the FCS level this year, Penning deserves the first round billing. |
| Cleveland Browns | Garrett Wilson WR/Ohio State | Wilson stays in Ohio to add another weapon for Baker Mayfield to get the offense going when stopped. Wilson's route ability is the best in the class and he can create separation all by himself. An outside WR who can draw top CBs, Wilson would allow the Browns offense to open up a bit. He could even play a bit in the slot if asked. |
| Washington Football Team | Malik Willis QB/Liberty | Washington is another team that feels like a QB away from being a true contender, even as Taylor Heinicke stood in tough. Willis has some bad games on tape, but his athletic upside and arm strength could give Cam Newton flashbacks. If the Washington staff thinks they can fix his ability to read defense and firm up his release, it could be a great match. |
| Philadelphia Eagles (f/ IND) | Bernhard Raimann OT/Central Michigan | The German sensation is a converted TE who is an ideal outside blocker. He has the feet to stand his ground and an absolute nasty demeanor. As the Eagles line ages, an outside presence who could even swing inside with success should help. |
| Miami Dolphins (f/ SF) | Darian Kinnard OT/Kentucky | Kinnard is still a bit underrated despite his success in the SEC this year. He is a huge presence and has some raw lower body strength to blow guys off the line. The Dolphins have had a major failing on the offensive line, so any help inside or outside should contribute. Kinnard could kick inside to Guard as well. |
| Buffalo Bills | Nakobe Dean LB/Georgia | Dean has a leadership presence and should be able to help both in coverage and against the run. He can move sideline to sideline well with good football instincts to make big plays. This could sure up the Bills defense and allow them to focus elsewhere. |
| Los Angeles Chargers | Treylon Burks WR/Arkansas | If Mike Williams leaves in free agency, a deep threat is needed to keep defenses honest. Burks gives the whole package of a huge target for Justin Herbert combined with Burks' ability to get down the field would be an excellent fit. This would make the Chargers offense very dangerous. |
| Detroit Lions (f/ LAR) | Sam Howell QB/North Carolina | The Lions can sit back in the late first and pick whatever QB falls if they like him. Howell feels like the perfect fit with Dan Campbell and staff. Howell is tough and showed it running the football this year, but his three years of production has him as a rock solid prospect. Howell put the offense on his back this year after losing a ton of weapons and he has the zip and IQ to be a good NFL QB. |
| Baltimore Ravens | Charles Cross OT/Mississippi State | Cross may not declare, but the pass protector is one of the best in the draft at the kick slide and never giving up an easy pressure. He could play LT or RT and has shown effortless glide while using his hands to be successful. The Ravens really need to get more time if they want to pass more. |
| Dallas Cowboys | Roger McCreary CB/Auburn | McCreary is a really nice press man corner who is physical and gets good position. He stays low in his back pedal to easily turn and run as needed. He would be a nice addition to the Cowboys secondary and can even slide into the slot if needed to help this team shut down opposing passing games. |
| Kansas City Chiefs | Drake London WR/Southern Cal | London has Mike Evans type qualities in his ability to go downfield at a huge size and dominate contested catches. A red zone threst who didn't have a bad game before his ankle injury, he would add a lot to a Chiefs team in need of playmakers. Mahomes throwing it up to London could be a dream. |
| Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Andrew Booth Jr. CB/Clemson | The Buccaneers get a steal with Booth falling all the way to this spot. Booth is very athletic and was near shut down this season for the Tigers. He has great instincts with the ball in the air and body flexibility to defend passes even when he isn't in perfect position. This should bolster the Bucs pass defense immediately. |
| Tennessee Titans | Kingsley Enagbare EDGE/South Carolina | Enagbare was a shining spot of a lowly Gamecocks team with tenacious pass rush moves. He can spin and rip his way to get to the QB, even against top SEC linemen. The Titans' pass rush has hurt their pass defense and adding someone opposite Harold Landry could pay dividends. |
| Green Bay Packers | Jahan Dotson WR/Penn State | Dotson is a deep threat who also has great body control to read the ball and make catches. If Davante Adams leaves, the Packers will have to invest a lot in the position. Dotson may be able to add a new element for Jordan Love to stretch the defense and give an underneath threat who can make a big play after the catch. |
| New England Patriots | Chris Olave WR/Ohio State | Olave had a down senior year, but he is such a smooth athlete. A potential steal with his early numbers, Olave has the speed to go deep but can be a real technician on routes to win. The Patriots desperately need more pass catchers who can stretch the field, and Olave would do that. |
| Arizona Cardinals | Ahmad Gardner CB/Cincinnati | "Sauce" is a physical CB who may not have the best measureables. He is sticky though and is rarely caught out of position as he can read WRs and seems to always know what they are going to do. The Cardinals pass defense has been solid this year, but someone like Gardner would add a lot. |
