Top 50 Non-Power 5 Prospects for the 2022 NFL Draft

2022 NFL Draft

The majority of players selected in the 2022 NFL Draft will come from the Power 5 conferences. Those five include the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, and Pac-12. However, there are usually about 20% of the prospects drafted come from schools from the Group of 5, FCS, or lower.

In 2019, 54 players were drafted from this level of play. In 2020, 58 prospects were taken. During the weird 2020 season where some schools played a short schedule, or some FCS schools played a spring schedule (or not at all), only 45 were drafted. It didn’t help that NFL scouts couldn’t get out on the road, there was no combine, and all meetings were done via Zoom and Skype.

I expect with some normalcy (somewhat) surrounding the 2021 season, expect the numbers of prospects selected to get back to the 2019 and 2020 levels in the 2022 NFL Draft.
