4. Scouting Notes

Background Profile

Coleton Price was a standout two-way player on both the offensive and defensive lines at Bowie High School in Texas. Rated as a top-50 interior lineman prospect, he chose to stay in-state and commit to Baylor. Over three active seasons with the Bears, Price developed into an elite, highly durable collegiate center. He wears number 72 to honor his late younger brother, Colby, and uses his brother’s motivational text, “Why settle? Don’t settle,” as his daily driving force. After earning his business communications degree from Baylor, Price transferred to Kentucky ahead of the 2026 season to prove himself against elite SEC defensive tackles.

Key Strengths

  • Elite Pass Protection: His 2025 season at Baylor was a masterclass in keeping the quarterback clean. He allowed only one single sack across 526 pass-blocking snaps, anchoring against Big 12 nose tackles with exceptional balance and heavy hands.
  • Vast Starting Experience: With over 2,200 career snaps and 30+ starts at the Power Four level, Price has the football IQ to make pre-snap calls and identify complex blitz packages.
  • Durability & Toughness: Price is an ironman at center. He brings a gritty, high-character locker room presence and sets the physical tone for his teammates in the trenches.

Developmental Focus

Because he is locked in almost exclusively as a center, NFL scouts will want to see him demonstrate the positional flexibility to slide over to guard in a pinch. At 6’3″ and 308 pounds, he also needs to consistently ensure he sustains his run-blocking leverage into the second level against faster, twitchier SEC linebackers.
