December Takeaways:

Wide receiver hype is off the chains at this point! We are starting to see the consensus mocks zero in on specific positions, for certain teams. My Detroit Lions, a couple of months in a row now are seeing the Kamari Lassiter love, and cornerback will be a big need (once again) this offseason. Having many safeties that can work in various roles in the secondary helps, but you still need a true #2 across from Cam Sutton, we have depth players but not a starter.

What we do know, in a typical year (on average), we see the following numbers go in the first round:
Quarterbacks: 2-3
Running Backs: Maybe 1-2 (lately more like 0)
Wide Receivers: 3-4 lately
Tight Ends: 1 (this year definitely 1)
Offensive Lineman: 3-4
Defensive Lineman: 2-3
Linebackers: 2-3 (possibly less)
Cornerbacks: 2-3
Safeties: Maybe 1

Remember, averages are just that and each year we see some positions more loaded than others. We know wide receivers could have a shot to see the most taken in round 1, purely because of the talent level AND how much our leagues moved toward high-powered passing attacks.
