It’s rare to see the Kansas City Chiefs drafting in the top ten of the NFL Draft. However, after QB Patrick Mahomes suffered a knee injury, the Chiefs lost their final six games. The franchise also traded away CB Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams. As a result, the Kansas City Chiefs had an additional first-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. Heading into the 2026 NFL Draft, the Chiefs had the opportunity to improve one of the best rosters in the NFL.

5th Round – Pick 161 – Emmett Johnson, RB, Nebraska
5th Round – Pick 176 – Cyrus Allen, WR, Cincinnati
7th Round – Pick 249 – Garrett Nussmeier, QB, LSU
The Kansas City Chiefs traded the ninth overall pick to the Cleveland Browns to move up to the sixth pick to select LSU CB, Mansoor Delane. Additionally, Kansas City sent its third and fifth-round picks to the Browns. Coming back in the first round, the organization selected Clemson DT Peter Woods to play on the defensive line. On day two, they found tremendous value with R Mason Thomas to play on the edge. Later, on day three, the Chiefs went back to offense, finding depth at three key positions.
